This is how the term cupcake came to life! This food fact is the reason why I almost always bake my muffins\/cupcakes directly in ceramic cups. Not only is it less waste, it is also adorable. It also gives me a chance to use my new mini mug from the Roastery \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>I have been receiving so many requests for recipes to pair with the new Reserve Christmas Blend! Today I decided I wanted to use a chocolate orange flavor profile. It is a classic Christmas flavor, and the addition of clove and all-spice, really make the Aged Sumatra in the Reserve Christmas pop!<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1110\" src=\"https:\/\/themodernbarista.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/rch2.jpg\" alt=\"2015 Reserve Christmas Blend with Chocolate Orange muffins\" width=\"800\" height=\"417\" srcset=\"https:\/\/themodernbarista.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/rch2.jpg 800w, https:\/\/themodernbarista.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/rch2-300x156.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These muffins are rich and dense. They aren&#8217;t over the top sweet so they are good for breakfast, or for dinner. I like to dunk mine in a cup of the Reserve Christmas blend &#8211; try it, it is so good!<\/p>\n<div class=\"easyrecipe\" data-rating=\"0\"> \t<link itemprop=\"image\" href=\"https:\/\/themodernbarista.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/rch1.jpg\" \/>\n<div class=\"item ERName\">Chocolate muffins with orange and clove<\/div>\n<div class=\"ERClear\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"ERHead\">Author: <span class=\"author\">Jocelyn Freeman<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"ERHead\">Serves: <span class=\"yield\">12 muffins<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"ERIngredients\">\n<div class=\"ERIngredientsHeader\">Ingredients<\/div>\n<ul class=\"ingredients\">\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 cups flour<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 tablespoon baking powder<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">\u00bd teaspoon baking soda<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">\u00bc cup packed dark brown sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">\u00bc teaspoon ground all spice<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">\u00bc teaspoon ground cloves<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">\u00bc cup dark chocolate, coarsely chopped<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">zest from 1 orange<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 egg<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">1 cup whole milk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ERInstructions\">\n<div class=\"ERInstructionsHeader\">Instructions<\/div>\n<div class=\"instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Preheat oven at 400. Prepare muffin tin with liners. Set aside.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Place the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder, brown sugar, allspice and clove in a bowl. Whisk until combined.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Add dark chocolate chunks and orange zest. Stir to combine.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">In a separate bowl, beat the egg and the milk together until well blended (do not overmix).<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Fold the egg-milk mixture into the dry ingredients.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Spoon the batter into muffin cups and bake for 15-16 minutes.
