In 10 years of working at Starbucks, I have come across many items in my lost and found. Mostly iphone chargers and earrings end up there, but I’ve seen laptops, houseplants, and just about anything you can imagine. Never once have I come across a lost kitten at Starbucks, but on my closing shift one night, I looked outside and there was this woman staring at me. I went outside and asked her if I could help her, and saw she had a tiny kitten. I gasped, and somehow I ended up taking this little guy home…
I love cats, and I have two at home, and when I saw this little guy, I knew he wouldn’t be safe on his own. I had been hearing rumors of a feral cat that recently had 5 kittens, and I assume this is one of the kittens, as it fits the time line. I have gone out looking for the others, and the mom, but haven’t had any luck. I wonder what happened, and why this kitten got separated, and how he ended up at Starbucks, but I am so glad he did.
I brought him home and created a little space for him in the bathroom. Roscoe and Cosmo were not happy about this addition. I started calling him Clover (because he is so lucky!). He couldn’t really eat on his own, so I would feed him by hand. He loved hanging out in my pour over cone, and I took this opportunity to take a few photographs of him.
I posted these pictures on social media and almost instantly, one of my friends in Arizona called her friend in Seattle, and the next thing I knew, Clover was on the ferry to his new home. He has been renamed to bergamot, Monty for short, and is loving his new home in Seattle.
