Today is #nationalgirlscoutday so in honor of that, I decided to revive my little corner of the web. 🙂 This is the 7th year I have done this pairing chart, which is mindblowing to me. Over half the cookies are also vegan, which is even more mindblowing 🙂
I am going to try and be more present here. I really miss doing coffee tastings, and I miss sharing my thoughts with all of you.

One of the best parts about transferring to a new store, is meeting so many new partners! There are two things people love to do together; laugh and eat, so many of my “ice breaker” conversations are around food. I have found out that my new store has a lot of partners who are vegan! This is very new to me, and I am not actually sure I have ever worked with a vegan partner before.
I love to cook (obviously) and I love to bring food in to share at work, but I don’t want to leave anyone out, as I have been working on new ideas to delight my vegan partners.

Starbucks = Girl Scout cookies
It’s cookie season, and I have been seeing posts on facebook about pairing wine with Girl Scout cookies (which is always a good idea!) I did a search for Girl Scout cookies and Starbucks coffees, and was surprised to see that no one had made up a tasting sheet! So here it is, my personal recommendations for Starbucks core coffees with Girl Scout cookies.

A few weeks ago we were talking about our favorite coffees, and my favorite Starbucks core coffee is (usually)Â Sumatra.
I remember when I was a new barista, drinking Sumatra for the first time paired with a maple scone and cheddar cheese, and I was blown away how this coffee paired with sweet and savory. Sumatra is earthy, and herbal and can balance so many different flavors. Maple, cheese, toffee, cinnamon and even mushrooms.
I wanted to take this early memory of Sumatra and a maple scone and reinvent it into something new. The addition of bacon not only compliments the maple, but lends a more savory quality. Bacon and Sumatra are a match made in heaven. <3

Theo chocolates + Starbucks
Theo chocolate is based in Seattle’s Fremont district. They make the most incredible chocolates! Starbucks was testing Theo peanut butter cups in select stores, and my friend Melody went to Theo chocolate to get an up close and personal tour. During her tour, she sent me a message, saying she needed my address “right now”. I sent it along, and a few days later, a huge box of chocolates was on my doorstep, compliments of Theo chocolate. Thank you Theo chocolate & Melody! I put together a coffee tasting with the seven chocolates I was sent (actually, there is one missing because I had to taste test it 🙂 )…
